Process Engineers
Local Erie Manufacturing Company has immediate requirements for Process Engineers with electronic assembly experience, particularly in SMT and Thru Hole areas.
This job is defined as a working manufacturing engineer and the position will support day-to-day operations and influence the next generation of designs. Key objectives include implementation, support and direction for reengineering and optimization of manufacturing process, equipment technology, and lean manufacturing process.
Duties include:
" Review existing data to see if more research and information needs to be collated, and assessing the adequacy of the existing processes and equipment
" Design, install and commission new production units, monitoring development (ie, modifications and upgrades) and troubleshooting existing processes
" Technical support and supervision for robotic, automated and semi-automated equipment
" Apply the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design
" Conduct process development experiments to scale
" Use computer modeling and simulations to design and evaluate processes and operating systems for the manufacture of products
" Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts
" Assess the availability of raw materials and the safety and environmental impact of the plant
" Manage the cost and time constraints of projects
" Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations
" Assume responsibility for risk assessment, necessitating hazard and operability (HAZOP) studies, for the health and safety of both company staff and the wider community
" Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of the plant
" Ensure the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs
" Make observations and take measurements directly, as well as collect and interpret data from the other technical and operating staff involved
" Assume responsibility for environmental monitoring and ongoing performance of processes
" Ensure that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations
" Liaise with other process engineers; quality, responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; engineers responsible for plant maintenance; commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules; and the operating crew
Successful candidates should have/be:
" 2-4 year Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience
" experience in electronics or similar manufacturing/operations and time studies preferred.
" experience with workflow analysis tools such as lean manufacturing techniques (TPS)
" software skills-drawing and analytical tools
" strong organizational and communication skills- written and verbal
" experience in project management
" skill in benchmarking
" Must possess advanced Excel skills and MRP inventory software experience
" Strong analytical, technical, mechanical and problem solving ability
" Highly motivated, self-starter; eager to learn
" Ability to direct/lead teams
" Detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills
" Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize
" Team player/ability to work well with all levels of the organization
