Accuspec Electronics, LLC

Quality Management System

At AccuSpec we strive to be the best. Our entire organization is built on this premise and we pride ourselves on the AccuSpec difference-an unparalleled passion for excellence in what we do. Our quality policy is simple and straightforward; "Assured Customer Excellence". At AccuSpec the foundation underlying our quest to exceed customer expectations is a rigorous measurement system, strong process controls and detailed root cause analyses and follow up. We are one of the few companies utilizing the new IPC-7912A and IPC-92661A standard for defect per million opportunity (DPMO) recording, publication and trend analyses. At AccuSpec we believe in the science behind our industry.

Building a quality product requires a highly skilled workforce. That is why we utilize a continuous training program for all employees. Our operators are certified to IPC-A-610 E Class 1, 2 and Class 3 workmanship standards. We also offer J-Standard training. We strive to make certain that our employees have the right tools and equipment to do their jobs and have a dedicated training facility and in-house trainers to assist in that effort.

Ensuring that we build high quality products requires more than just training. It also requires that we measure and reward the right “levers”. At AccuSpec we try to reward the right behavior by paying a significant quarterly bonus program related to customer quality feedback.

At AccuSpec we standardize our quality system through planning, control, improvement, and variation reduction. Implement ISO-9001/ISO-13485 standards company wide. Assure discipline and rigor for new product introduction development process with an emphasis on prevention (NPI). Implement "Best Practices" and driving for continuous improvement.

Our Quality Policy

Assured Customer Excellence

Our commitment is to provide products and service that meet our customer requirements and demonstrate our continuous improvement in Quality, Delivery, Technology and Cost, and maintain the effectiveness of our Quality management system.

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

AccuSpec utilizes Statistical Engineering tools for problem solving. We use advanced statistical process control (SPC) for key processes throughout the factory. As an example we utilize Omron 3D solder paste inspection to ensure we are getting a quality print. All of our screen printers are equipped with QC-CALC™ which monitors pre and post print alignment in x, y and theta; board stretch is highlighted by spacing differences between board fiducials and stencil fiducials; separation speed and temperature & humidity are all monitored real time with each print cycle. Our reflow ovens are checked daily to ensure that the actual operating temperatures and the set points are consistent. At AccuSpec we are one of the few EMS companies that measure the SMT chip drop rate by component, type of component and even by nozzle which has virtually eliminated missing/unpopulated components. We use automated optical inspection on our lines and monitor our errors found, false positives and “missed errors” for each assembly so that we are able to continually improve the process by honing in on potential problem areas while reducing inspection on trouble-free areas. Throughout the factory you will find rigorous implementation of SPC. At AccuSpec we believe in the science behind our industry.

ACES Quality Management System

Our ACES Quality Management System is one of the cornerstones of our ability to deliver high quality products and attain industry low defect rates. The ACES system helps our continuous process improvement by:

  • Capturing the history of a board including in process defects, AOI,1st pass test yield, and customer return and warranty data
  • Calculating and recording first pass yield for each assembly, batch, date and customer
  • Automatically calculating defects per million opportunities based on Component, Placement,Termination and Assembly (DPMO)
  • Driving our in house QUIPs (Quality Inspection Points) system
  • Tracking RMAs and RMA trends, comparing RMAs to in process failures for root cause analyses
  • Associating customers serial numbers with AccuSpec serial numbers
  • Querying the history of a board or job order
  • Preventing any board with a test failure or unresolved issue from being shipped
  • Quickly tracking customer complaints
  • Reporting all defects by process area, part type, and error types
  • Associates component lot tracking to the customer serial number

ESD Protection

AccuSpec uses a closed loop ESD system which compares ESD testing results to building access. Supervisors receive an email if an operator is in the building and has not passed the ESD testing twice daily. Our state of the art 60,000 square foot facility utilizes dissipative ESD flooring throughout the entire production floor. Temperature and humidity controls are in place as well. ESD footwear is worn by all AccuSpec Employees and visitors are required to wear foot straps when they access the production floor.
ESD training is a requirement for all employees. Our ESD control follows the ANSI/ESD S20.20 ESD Control Program standard.
